honestly man i kind of agree. like on the sight (Site admin blocked this because poster is an idiot) they put stuff out daily. heck martial god asura literally puts out 3 or 4 a DAY and they dont ask for donations either. i mean the site might be bigger than this one but when i saw there are 35 entire VOLUMES of SS left and the speed this is going it kind of frustrated me. im really loving this story and just because i dont know how to read chinese and have to rely on another im stuck waiting. it would be one thing if i was waiting on the creator, but im not. im waiting on someone to copy his work and just put it in my language and if they want to be fast or slow or lazy or productive i am stuck at their mercy regardless. and i REALLY dont want to have to wait for several YEARS to be able to read a story that is ALREADY OUT. it is exceedingly irritating.
Back in the day when all that Harry Potter hype was going on, since translated works would only be published many weeks later, there existed fan translations online created by fan groups where everyone would translate perhaps 2-3 pages out of the whole book and then share the completed book with other people in the group. In that manner it only took 1-2 days to translate the entire book (collaborative work of over 100 people) BUT every one of those spent several hours translating. So each page of a book (which is not that much text at all) is still at least an hours work and that’s w/o any kind of proofing, quality check.
Translation is a LOT of work and that’s even true for English to other european languages which are all somewhat related. Maybe one day machine translations will be so advanced that you no longer need to wait for puny hoomans to do the translation work for you. Until then be thankful anyone is willing to do it.
There are novels out there that haven’t seen a single new translated chapter in months.
Had to answer… 1 MGA is officially published on wuxiaworld (and they purchased the license) so in the end you are not even supporting the groups you are giving add money to stealers… yay for you 2. MGA gets 8.000 dollars a month of donation so the translator earns a living from donations and can also pay proofreaders ! More and more translators are living off their work
yeah, I agree. There are no other alternatives either. The few chapters per week is crazy slow. At this point, I’m just hoping another translator comes along and help catch up.
Do we really only get 2 regular chapters a week? That’s so sad this story could be so much more popular but it’s impossible with that kind of base release speed. It is almost impressive that it has as many sponsored releases as it does considering that….
Stellar Transformation, Coiling Dragon, and Desolate era are a really good example of how amazingly popular I Eat Tomatoes content can be if it has a steady release rate as the base and Swallowed Star is so good so far and the translators quality it great also.
How about you guys get off your LAZY ASS’S and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? Be thankful we even have translators and have you ever heard of something called REAL LIFE? It’s a mystical world where you are institutionalized wake up at 5:30 get to work at 7 work till 5:30 eat shower sleep and repeat. Many people have this lifestyle and some Translators also have work outside of translating and can’t blast out 2+ chapters daily or even 2-4 chapters weekly. Grow the hell up you spoiled little brats
We are thankful, so shut up, tha t guy is just lamenting of the slow releases, because the novels of I eat tomatoes are really good, he isn’t saying anything bad, also a translator can live fully from his translations if he really tries, especially since this is a novel of I eat tomatoes. Notice however what is complain and what’s lamenting, do you love cliffhangers? No one does! However the fact that someone is translating this HUGE awesome work slowly, getting comments of lament is normal. I also feel sad for the low popularity which is the result of slow releases, I am a patient person and I can wait, nobody is forcing him to translate and I also respect his personal life, my point being that this novel not being popular enough is indeed something sad, what makes you think everyone is complaining of slow releases? Many people have given up good novels cause of cliffhangers and slow updates, this isn’t at the point where it’s 1 update a month, so I am thankful, let me remind you that the reason of this lament is not that it isn’t popular or has slow releases but that it pales in comparison to the popularity of the other I eat tomatoes novels, don’t you too think that’s sad?
I would like to write this better but I am using my tablet and it’s hard to write on it for various reasons. However your comment of stereotyping everyone as spoiled little brats just cause we are sad of its low popularity got on my nerves.
Also if I could do something about it, i would but I can’t since I am a student and I have to study, I just read novels to remove my stress, it’s also not the ideal job I have in mind for myself since I want to be a game designer in the future.
How about you do something about it. Since you called us spoiled little brats, let’s see you big guy doing something about it.
It was something I wanted to say for a some time, also I just binge read this, so I am not sure about how slow the updates are, I know I can’t judge, also I heard from my brother that lately it has faster updates since the Qidian partnership, which is the only positive thing Qidian has done. So I guess it will get the popularity it deserves.
just wanted to leave an update comment because of my whining one earlier. ive been really happy with the increase in speed of the translations. super super happy. it used to be that if the releases ended on a cliff hanger i would have to force myself to forget about it for a while (sometimes a couple weeks) in order to stay interested and not stop reading out of frustration. now i can stay engaged and talk to others about it or something because its a pretty safe bet that in a few days time more releases will start coming out. just wanted to update that since not many other people have.
At the rate this is translated, it will be like 5 or 6 years before we get to the end. That’s pathetic.
At least its better than someone who only talk.

well get off your lazy ass and learn chinese within 5 or 6 years, just cause you are too lazy to do something dont blame someone else for it

yeah, I agree. There are no other alternatives either. The few chapters per week is crazy slow. At this point, I’m just hoping another translator comes along and help catch up.

Let me add something I forgot, I don’t have any kind of credit card yet, so I cant donate yet!
刚才捐助了你一美元,实在佩服你的毅力,我最近在学英文,然后阅读你翻译的小说,这本小说我挺喜欢的
Thank you we got the donation 🙂
